My knitting comfort zone are shawls. This year, I want to improve my sweater knitting skills. I am starting with a vest and the swatching has begun with the lace panel. Spouse popped into A Darn Good Yarn to pick up yarn I need to finish a project, and they gave him one of their Trevithick Day freebies - cute stitch markers, a "handmade with love" label, and a yarn needle.
They're the sweetest, friendliest local yarn store folk we've met down this way and we love supporting them.
I'm hoping I'll get to have a peek at their rainbow wall while I'm here, which has 116 shades of one of their DK yarns!

I was reading a post about the yarn in Ellie’s hat in The Last of Us (Someone said they verified Sweet Georgia, speculation was Malabrigo Rios). It made me think about clothing production in the post-apocalyptic age. Alright science enjoyers, I have collected some data for us 
Ordered the yarn on Sunday, still feeling absolutely terrible.
Package arrived Tuesday around noon, later that day I managed to record a short video for Ko-fi members, and by that night OH was saying "you sound a lot less cough-ey".
Next few days, made sure to pet the yarn and look at the yarn and take photos of the yarn. A lingering cough remains, and my voice took a while to come back but otherwise the recovery seems complete.
Things definitely took a turn for the better on Tuesday, that's all I'm saying.
I have 1200 yards of nice thick 100% wool, 2 ply from BarlettYarn in Maine. Should I make a squishy rug and felt it, or a cozy couch blanket (and also probably felt it)?
I never have large quantites of a single yarn, so I want to make something substantial, instead of lots of small things. #knitting #crochet #yarn #FiberArts
Continued scrap blanket project. I more or less got the bottom of my own stash, at least if I wanted to make nice looking colour combos for the squares. Today I raided my mom's stash for more yarn for the rest of the blanket! The yarn is airing out in the sun on the balcony after hanging out in a drawer for many years.
