Have to note that Ivanishvili decision to scrap EU membership perspective sent to recycle bin also bid of Georgian central bank to join SEPA (single European Payments Area), for what Georgian CB applied in 2022.

Here in #GeorgiaCountry it is possible to pay for some services by sending money to personal ID or company tax id, using standard internet banking applications.

This is helpful in context of using less Visa/Mastercard, who are both US companies.

But as soon as border crossed one way or another, such as donations for Ukraine, or a payment for Glovo delivery or Bolt ride.

People in EU who want boycott Visa and Mastercard, how you solve cross-border payments issue?

Ich nutze den seit ein paar Wochen und bin begeistert:
- keine Rufnummer nötig, weder für Registrierung, noch für Kontakte
- kein Benutzername
- automatisiert generierte E2E-verschlüsselte Mail-Adresse für die Kommunikation ("Chatmail")
- eigene Mail-Adresse verschlüsselt, sofern verschlüsselt
- dezentralisiert
- integrierte Applets
- uvm.

Ich finde den total genial und würde mir wünschen, er wäre sehr viel weiter verbreitet!

@watson_news am besten ist imho europa gut beraten ganz cool zu bleiben und fast nichts zu machen, ausser einer steuer für it-dienstkeistungen u. it-produkte und gleichzeitig selber die grosse werbetrommel für #unplugTrump #unplugUSA anzuwerfen, mit der permanenten nennung von europ. alternativen und diese gleichzeitig zu subventionieren, so „a la“ … online-formular ausfüllen für private, firmen UND behörden, wenn diese dies einreichen mit europ. produkten gibts cash-back!

As an alternative to #WhatsApp usually two messengers are mentioned. #Signal and #Threema. Usually together with the hashtag #unplugTrump.
But why Signal then? Signal is backed by the Signal Foundation, located in Mountain View, California, USA.
At the end of the day it’s only a question of time until MuskTrump will take over control here as well. So from my point of view Signal isn't a safe alternative. Only Threema is left.
Maybe its time using the #hashtag #unplugUSA instead of #unplugTrump

A few days ago, in another mastodon discussion, I have proposed a cooperation of small shops.

There are European integrators of payment services. But they usually work with big shops, like Amazon, or AliBaba, or with big payment providers, like Paypal, or Stripe.

Such a coop should be big enough, to be considered a customer for those integrators.

Unser Projekt #mapleHome mach Fortschritte!

Nachdem wir so einige Apps & Tools im #homelab getestet haben, steht nun eine kleine Weiterentwicklung ins Haus. Bislang haben wir neben einem #raspberrypi4 noch andere Smarthome Zentralen im Einsatz. Das soll alles etwas optimiert und teils zusammengefasst werden ...

Nach einiger Recherche haben wir uns letztlich für einen Mini-PC als #homeserver entschieden, der offenbar ein gutes Verhältnis aus Leistung, Energieeffizienz und Platzbedarf bietet. Noch dazu macht das Kühlsystem für den angedachten 24/7 Dauerbetrieb einen guten Eindruck. Es geht hierbei (erstmal) nicht um Highend-Leistung, sondern einen soliden Betrieb. Die Hardware:
- Intel N97 Prozessor mit 16 GB RAM DDR4
- 1 TB System-SSD (M.2 PCIe 3x4)
- Slot für 2.5" SSD/HDD als Datengrab

Zuerst wird die kleine Box erstmal ausgiebig getestet. Bin echt gespannt, wie sich die Geräte inzwischen so entwickelt haben ...
Das mitgelieferte Windows 11 wird dann durch #proxmoxve ersetzt und das System für unser Heimnetzwerk konfiguriert. Die verschiedenen Apps & Tools werden schließlich als VMs oder Container realisiert. Dazu aber später mehr ...

PS:
Völlig konträr zu #unplugusa muss ich gestehen, dass wir das Gerät aus Verfügbarkeitsgründen (und einem echt guten Preis) dann doch beim großen Versand bestellt haben ...
