Just released version 0.19.0 of #Lisien, the time-traveling rules engine for life simulation games in #Python.

This release switches the default storage engine to #ParquetDB. In practice, game history takes around 1/20 as much of your hard drive as it did with SQLite.

I did a lot of refactoring for this release, finding and fixing loads of mysterious crashes.

Get it in your Python interpreter with python -m pip install lisien elide, or download on #itchio: clayote.itch.io/lisien/devlog/

The #glitchGFXjam has been running for a whole week!

Have you got your idea(s) going yet? :3

This is month-long #anythingJam focuses on using graphics from the (defunct and open sourced) game Glitch, and is hosted by @atjscreams and me!

Beginner friendly and there's resources listed for easy ways to make your #game or #zine or #ttrpg or whatever!)

Game developers: if you treat your itch.io version as a second class citizen, or abandon it, you are not respectable.

If you use itch.io to market a demo for the game, then release it exclusively on steam, you deserve jail time.

It's been a year since my first jam! I was scared, but my wonderful team made it so much fun. Since then I co-created or created 19 games, 9 asset packs, wrote two zines, and participated in 22 jams (including two bundles if you want to be exact) in 6 engines. I sold my first game for actual money and learned to program (well, y'know, it's a process). I'm far from sick of it, and looking forward to my next thing!
