**edit** Thanks for the boosts! I couldn't find a solution on Linux/Firefox, so I used a different device running Chrome and the extension ESUIT - Photos Downloader. It worked well but is only free for 300 images.

HELP: I'm quitting Meta and want to bulk download photos I'm tagged in (photos uploaded by my friends) on Facebook. It's easy to view thumbnails of them all on one screen, but they only download individually.

Is there a browser extension or application that will bulk download the fullsize images from a web page of thumbnails?

Linux / Firefox, but be warned I'm a novice with Linux.

(To be clear, I already used Facebook's option to export all my own data, but that didn't include "Photos of me".)

Hey fedi devss! (Hints & boosts appreciated)

Mastodon API question — which instance/server API says where the URL redirects when there is no signed in user?

For example:
1. social.ayco.io goes to my profile; but
2. fosstodon.org goes to the explore tab

I am looking for the info via REST API

Is there a way to make Filters case-sensitive?

Edit: I’m going to answer my own question after trawling through some git issues and say no, it’s not currently possible.

At least you can use regex in Ivory’s Filters, so that’ll have to do for now, but it sure would be helpful if a future version of Mastodon would add a case-sensitive option in addition to the whole word option.

#AskMastodon I'm looking for a portable projector, that doesn't have smart-tv capabilities or android or any kind of operating system really.

Do you know any?

I need it for teaching, and I'll render code in it so it might need some proper resolution. I normally teach on different places (I visit the companies where I have to teach) so I need it to be as lightweight and small as possible.

Thanks <3

A family member’s Surface laptop went dark the other day. It seems to be Windows-related. I offered to “fix” it for them by installing Ubuntu. I’m thinking of going with Gnome since Unity is too different from the Windows UI, so they’re not completely disoriented. Or should I go with KDE?

If you’ve introduced a Windows user to Linux before, please share your tips!

If I write systemctl status --all in the terminal I can see some writing about old units like "Unit ntpsec.service could not be found." or something like that.
So the question is, where does #systemd get it from? I haven't had ntpsec for a long time.
and there are no unit files left in the system, but for some reason systemd remembers them and searches for them for some reason, and throws an error.

Does anyone know a good tool for checking investment growth, accounting for reinvestment, that allows you to input stock ticker symbol (e.g. VOO), purchase date, and purchase amount?

Everyone seems way too hyped up about current stock prices, but dividends account for a significant fraction of growth when you account for reinvestment. I'd like to study that a bit and compare stocks.
