I am not entirely sure, but believe the yellowish brown plants pictured are the non-photosynthetic parasitic plants known as bear corn (Conopholis americana).

Little clay effigies with offerings at the Water-Breaks-Its-Neck waterfall, New Radnor, Wales. So lovely to see signs of human interaction with nature as adding something positive!
