(C'est le cas de CIC et Crédit Mutuel par exemple)

Attention : Wero n'est pas encore une alternative réelle à paypal, alipay, apple pay, etc...mais c'est l'objectif visé...d'où l'intérêt de soutenir l'initiative de Wero

We're looking to minimise US economic dependence, right? Yet personally, in the UK, I'm still an oldish person mainly using a plastic Mastercard debit card. Is everyone else here really using digital QR payments instead??

@RubenWA it's not what I mean.
I am talking about real credit cards, not just a #PayPal alternative allowing online payments.
You can avoid using PayPal and just purchase with your credit card, and there are different national services handling that transaction online.
But not a single EU country has a circuit like #Visa or #MasterCard. We had local debit cards s circuits and even those are being unified under Maestro, which belongs to Mastercard.

Den föregående amerikanska presidenten stängde av båda i Ryssland efter invasionen. Den nuvarande kan hota med samma åtgärd under alla förhandlingar om tullar.

But there are also "#ColdWallets" aka. "#PaperWallets" to mitigate some risks.

I just see #Monero as a better alternstive to an #AMEX, #VISA, #MasterCard or #PayPal!

And unlike Other #Cryptocurrencies it's free of #SmartContracts and #NFTs so not on the perpetual tire fire that is @web3isgreat ...

Not gonna claim it's better than #Euro banknotes, but unless you have a bank account in #SEPA where you can use #wero, it's the fastest way to do #CashlessPayments remotely/online...

Except THIS is not how any of this works!....

All it will do is see the #USA as #unpredictable, #unstable and less #trustworthy than the "P.R." #China or even #Russia under #Putin.

#Trump literally lashing out against friends and neighbours will only backfire hard, and I expect @EUCommission and @europarl_en to enact #PrizeFreezes for #US #products & #services whilst forcing #Retaliatory #Tariffs on all US #products and espechally #services, demanding 100%+ in all #fees, and #revenue of #GAFAMs' services and products to the point that they'll effectively cancel half their revenue that flows back.

Plus forcing all products and services to be processed and sold via a #EU-based #corporation and adding a 30% "#AlienTax" as the #USA already does for i.e. #App #developers that ain't from the US even if they never sold a single license to a US customer.

Not to mention cancelling any #DataProtection agreements that only stalled the foreseeable court decision that #CloudAct is incompatible with #GDPR, thus banning #Office365 / #Microsoft365, #iCloud et. al. from the EU!

And yes, this level of #retaliation is not only just, but #overdue, as we need @european_alternatives / #EuropeanAlternatives to #VISA, #AMEX, #MasterCard, #PayPal, #Steam, etc.

Given #Trump can't be assed to even fake any #loyality or #allied status even for the cameras, this is a #ForeseeableConsequence.

As only with #Accountability and #Consequences will we see change, and punishing the GAFAMs is a neessity in this regard.

Unless we want to end up #downgraded into the state of a US-occupied overseas possession without statehood, like #Guam, #PuertoRico or #AVI...

Ich benutze #Aplle #ApplePay #Mastercard. Keine #Marabou Schokolade mehr. Kein #TommyHilfiger. Und #ApplePay versuche ich, zu vermeiden. Aber sonst wird‘s schwer.
