The Northern hemisphere summer #jetstream in 2018 manifested a wave pattern that led to simultaneous heatwaves and droughts in the Northern breadbaskets in USA Europe and Russia.
It's a wave-7 pattern in which the wind band shows 7 wave lows

What it laps up in the lower latitudes as warm temperatures is then dumped on the mid- to high latitudes.
And this, together with its impacts on food production in the affected regions, is projected to occur more often the hotter it gets.
