Ferguson ran so far to the right on cops and wanting to spend $100 Million bucks to do it, that even the Seattle Times seemed to be calling him out on it! He kept the Best endorsement up for a year.
So when you combine the politics of increasing cops but decreasing services its hard to tell the deference between the Dems and the GOP.
People seem to have forgotten who Bob Ferguson is. Nah the man is a walking political blunder. In the year 2023 he publicly thanked Seattle Police Chief, Carmen Best for her endorsement of him.
Carmen Best is well known for teargassing broad swaths of Seattle's Capitol Hill gayborhood during the month of pride in response to peaceful George Floyd protests.
She later stepped down while Mayor Jenny Durkan faced a recall over these and other actions.
According to one of my economics comrades the governor's approach would cost the average working WA resident an extra $3861 per year!
Again, all this in an economy where the average American can not afford a $1k unexpected expense.
WA residents will pay nearly $4k more either directly in sales taxes OR indirectly as externalized costs in their everyday lives.
Ferguson is giving us a master class in regressive taxation.
What makes Ferguson's position on the state's budget crunch so alarming is that the Democratic party in the state legislature has been whipping votes and checking in with voters about introducing progressive taxation solutions. The state dems, seem to fear cutting services more than raising taxes.
In stark contrast to the dem governor Ferguson says he'll only Ok regressive taxes, and won't tax billionaire or millionaire income!
Bad Democrat, no cookie.
WA Governor Bob Ferguson has been putting forth policies more inline with Trump's white house than what you'd expect from a Democrat.
The new governor's policies has been a loud promise to drastically increase the number of cops in the state while at the same time over seeing budget cuts that could shrink social services and cut state worker hours in an economy drowning in rising costs.

My main takeaway from this attempted electoral scam is that when referring to multiple people named Bob Ferguson, we really should be saying "Bobs Ferguson" not "Bob Fergusons." Just like attorneys general.
