Besides the Italian original issue, the PDF magazine REV'n'GE ("Retro Emulator Vision and Game") is also available in English. The magazine's reviews compare, if available, the different ports of classic games to the various platforms of their time. Furthermore a focus is on rather unknown retro games.

The latest issue 169 includes tests of "Archon" and "Murder Makes Strange Deadfellows" for CDTV.

This year's #Revision brought us a very cool release for the #AmstradPlus by the French group #Impact called "3DManiaks2". Voxel, Plasma effects, Raycasting and much more making great use of the extended colour palette of the Plus range. Excellent tune by Ultrasyd.

Hey, it's #AmstradCPC #Smalltalk time again!
First of all, ùCPM fanzine released their 6th issue including my article introducing the project (lovely designed and printed on CPC, and great choice of illustrations, unfortunately for some of you, it's in French)

After a few days of thinking, I decided to throw away my semi-generational gc, and instead use the Baker two-space gc. It is simpler, and hopefully it's faster. The memory "waste" should be fine, I have lots of memory anyways?

I’m too sleep deprived to tackle the diodes today but I’ve soldered on the key switch sockets. The footprints allow either direct soldering of the key switches or socket mounting. Using sockets allows you to swap to different switches. It also saves a tonne of money when building prototypes 😂

I'm debugging the ROM emulation on the Firestarter. It looks as if the code to monitor ROM enable and ROM selection is working but the host crashes once it starts accessing the ROM.

The first access of the ROM is when BASIC calls KL_INIT_BACK to initialise background ROMs.

The first read is the LD A,(&C000). A few cycles later the ROM's init routine at &C006 will be called.

So schimpft sich ein neuer Podcast des #SWR, der gut geeignet ist um sich über den Tübinger OB Boris Palmer eine Meinung zu bilden. Oder vielleicht auch um diese zu revidieren. Vier von fünf Folgen habe ich heute im Auto verschlungen. Man erfährt viel über Familie und Umfeld und auch, dass es in den 80ern einen Schneider #CPC in der Familie gab, der produktiv eingesetzt wurde.

Interessanter Typ, sagen viele – und dass sie nicht so genau wissen, was sie von ihm halten sollen. Er ist sehr intelligent, ein Macher, einer, der nach Lösungen sucht und anpackt, wenn er ein Problem erkennt. Palmer hat Sternstunden. Dafür wird er gefeiert. Dafür wird er auch zum dritten Mal als Oberbürgermeister in Tübingen wiedergewählt, auch wenn die Bürgerinnen und Bürger mit seiner Art nicht immer einverstanden sind. Da lässt er Menschen oft ratlos zurück, weil er Dinge sagt, die man als aufgeklärter Mensch nicht tut oder sagt – und dabei oft genug Mitmenschen auf die Füße tritt oder sogar konkreten Einfluss auf ihr Leben hat. Vielen stößt auch auf, dass er sich immer wieder im Ton vergreift. Er ist der Gegenentwurf zum glatten Politiker. Wie gehen wir als Gesellschaft mit so einem um? Brauchen wir Menschen wie Boris Palmer, die alles andere als glatt sind, um etwas voranzubringen? Und wie viel davon kann die Gesellschaft aushalten? Über allem scheint so eine Art Mission zu stehen: Boris Palmer sagt, er wolle die Welt retten, und um sie retten zu können, müsse auch jeder davon mitkriegen. Umweltschutz ist also seine oberste Handelsmaxime. Auf dem Weg dahin hat er wahre Sternstunden, wie z.B. bei der Schlichtung zu Stuttgart 21 oder im Umgang mit der Corona-Krise In solchen Momenten wird er als grüner Shooting Star gefeiert. Dann aber sorgt er mit provokanten Äußerungen auf Facebook für einen Sturm der Entrüstung. Sein Freund Rezzo Schlauch hat es so formuliert: alles, was er erreicht hat, reißt er mit dem Hintern wieder ein. Im Podcast schauen die Autorinnen und Hosts Sandra Kolnik und Alexandra Müller Palmers Sternstunden genauer an, aber auch seine fragwürdigen Auftritte. Sie beschäftigen sich mit seinem Vater, dem Remstal-Rebellen Helmut Palmer, und wie sehr Boris durch ihn geprägt wurde. Wie hat sich die politische Debattenkultur verändert und wo ist inzwischen die rote Linie des Sagbaren? Wie viel Narzissmus steckt in der Politik? It was the first game i think I ever finished it has retro sort of look to it though I think I mixed a few too many styles so it was orginally meant to look 8 bit ish, but I pushed in some neon. anyway, it was about 9 years ago so maybe i had some sort of plan then I have since forgot lol.
