It should go without saying, but I'll say it anyway: the public release is already enough to mass target people based on their race, gender and immigration status, not to mention the actor's anti-#DEI anti-#AffirmativeAction positions. Freezing credit might still be too little too late, but at this point I fail to see any better recourse (even after consulting with professionals).

The proposals include eliminating the Dept of #Education, weakening tenure protections for #career #CivilServants & conducting large-scale #immigration #raids. Many of the proposals overlap w/policies officially supported by the #Trump campaign, including ending #AffirmativeAction, repealing temporary protections [#TPS] for some #immigrants & undoing the #Biden admin’s #environmental regulations.

#MichelleObama's "line overlapping #affirmativeaction & #GenerationalWealth wasn’t offering “affirmative action” as a pejorative term. It was, instead, contextualizing a different way in which people are boosted by circumstances that aren’t always under their control. It was a defense of affirmative action programs that noted how wealth built in an explicitly unfair economy was its own form of unearned advantage."

For #Biden, who has long resisted calls to reform #SCOTUS, the announcement Monday marked a major shift in his posture toward one of America’s three branches of government. Since Biden assumed the presidency, the #SupremeCourt has veered sharply to the #right — overturning #RoeVWade, ending #AffirmativeAction in college admissions, weakening federal #agencies#power by overturning a 40-year decision & striking down Biden’s #StudentLoan forgiveness program.

#DEI prgms toppled amid a surge of #conservative #lawsuits

A yr after #SCOTUS struck down race-based college admissions, #RightWing *public interest* grps have filed a barrage of federal lawsuits intended to dismantle long-standing #corporate & #government prgms that consider race in awarding #jobs & other #opportunities, & their #litigation already is eroding the use of #AffirmativeAction in an array of #American institutions.

The Washington Post · DEI programs toppled amid a surge of conservative lawsuitsBy Peter Whoriskey

Did you know that #India has one of the strongest #AffirmativeAction programs in the world? Disadvantaged groups (scheduled castes and tribes and economically weaker sections) have as much as 60% of all government jobs and seats in state run educational institutes completely reserved for them? Yes we have a lot of poor people and we have had and continue to have caste based discrimination, but the amount of efforts put into solving the problem are proportional to the size of the problem
