#Communism seems like a good idea until you realise it requires an autocratic vanguard.

Likewise #Anarchism seems like a good idea until you discover communal factions which necessitate a social contract.

In between is #SocialDemocracy. That also seems like a good idea until you find out that half of the public are hypnotised by the propaganda of special interests.

Good arguments made from each side. The left care more about public interest, but that is also why we squirm more over policy.

#Neoliberalism destroyed the US and traumatized the #EU. But that era is finally over. Now let's make sure #egalitarian #keynesianism wins over fascism once again. This is an opportunity.

Any scholars of #LaborHistory or #SocialChange #historians who care to share their perspectives on society-wide #GeneralStrikes that augured significant advances in #labor political power and advanced reforms or #SocialDemocracy ? It seems each case and country/epoch could be quite unique, but perhaps there are shared aspects (for successful actions, as well as for flops). I'm wondering if there will be signs or necessary conditions to watch for here in the USA.

My main quibble with articles like this is the emphasis on #SocialDemocracy as a bulwark against rising #fascism. The claim has some utility but the #socialist left has always had better answers to the #WorkingClass insecurity that #AfD & #Trump exploit.
