#PSA: If someone complains how much "sick" or "deficient" people "cost" the #state, that’s LITERAL #nazi ideology which only serves to belittle people and justify death.

Here’s an #NSDAP #propaganda poster. Translation: “This hereditary defective [man] costs the public 60,000 RM [Reichsmark] in a lifetime. Comrade, that’s your money, too. Read New Public, the monthly issues of the Race-Political Office of the NSDAP.”

Let’s not get anyone get away with #nazi talking points.

#PSA #autism
Fascists think we #ActuallyAutistic will not defend ourselves
The 2nd amendment of the #Constitution gives you the right to bear arms
Many states give you the right to use deadly force against intruders YOU believe are about to cause you deadly harm, inside your home, with full legal protection

Now is the time to practice gun safety for #selfdefense

You should do prior research into local state laws regarding homestead defense, in order to protect yourself legally. #KnowYourRights

TIL & #PSA: In #Firefox you can "search" your bookmark folders from within the "new bookmark" popup (Ctrl+D or the star icon in the URL bar). Expand the folders list, then type letters. It works similar to most file browsers: It's not a search, it finds the next folder matching what you typed. I have 80+ folders and this speeds up chosing the correct one massively since the folder list is so small. Also works for subfolders. Press Alt to close & save.

Via ProPublica: "People experiencing pregnancy loss in states with abortion bans told us they wished they had known what to expect and how to advocate for themselves.

We created this guide for anyone who finds themselves in the same position.

I'm going to put this here (it's also in a reply) in case people don't know.

In Australia, the parties are paid by the AEC, to reimburse some of their campaign spending, if they reach 4% of the primary (first preference) vote.

So if you like your local independents or socialists or small parties or greens, give them your *first* preference.

It means your vote can be useful to changing the political landscape, even if it ultimately ends up with a major party because you live in a safe seat or similar.

It's also a *really* good reason not to donkey vote. Vote they way you want, or don't vote. Donkey voting (numbering down from the top without thinking) sends money to whoever is at the top of the ballot.

When a single toot takes up so much space I need to scroll through a full screen on my phone twice, then... Wow. Maybe get a blog instead?

I know some people chafe with strict character limits, but please don't go overboard like this.

I will try find a way to hide megatoots on my app, but if I can't I will have to block or mute people.

#PSA: things that are still broken in #KDE #Plasma #Wayland session (minor) as of 6.3.4

  • Windowshade only works with X11 windows
  • No compatibility with wtype, and ydotool doesn't handle Unicode (or at least, not emoji) (So, now way to inject text into the active window, like for an emoji picker)
  • No way (that I've found so far) to get the title/name of the active window
    • Correction: this is doable with kdotool: kdotool getwindowname $(kdotool getactivewindow)

That's it so far. I'll add to this if I find/remember anything else.

One more thing I've just observed: the mouse cursor doesn't disappear in LibreOffice Calc when just moving the selection cursor with the arrow keys. It does disappear (as I have specified in settings) when you actually type something in, though.
