Tapper did no such thing.
The video posted by Trump comes from an April 2019 CNN segment. In Trump's edited version, Trump even cut into the word "people.”

@dangillmor conceptually, sure. But #ConvictedFelonDJT is so adept at creating confusion and diversion that I'm pretty sure even #JakeTapper would've been hard pressed to succeed in that endeavor.
If the choice is between #Dolt45 having an opening to engage in back and forth about what's true and what isn't and just letting his lies go by and move to the next topic, I'll choose the latter. In a normal election cycle I'd course the former. But #TheFormerGuy has a preternatural ability to hijack a discussion.
