@pluralistic I just filed my taxes in #Norway. 5 minutes to skim the pre-filled form, accept with no changes, submit.

Was pleased to see they had all the deductions already filled in. If I'd had an expensive commute for work, I'd have been able submit receipts to get a deduction above the standard minimum. Same with any non-electronic transactions I might have had. I don't , so I didn't.

For the record: #Intuit replied to my #spam complaint and told me I could go to https://data-privacy.app.intuit.com/preferences to unsubscribe from their spam.
I've done that; we'll see if it works.
Needless to say, they completely ignored the portion of my complaint where I pointed out that the unsubscribe link in their spam didn't work and that that's a violation of federal law.

How is #Intuit so bad at everything except, seemingly, income-tax software?
They spammed me today at an email address which to my knowledge has never had an Intuit account associated with it. When I click the unsubscribe link it brings me to their login page. But I can't log in with that email address—no account!—so I can't unsubscribe.
This is both stupid and illegal; working unsubscribe links are a requirement of the CAN-SPAM act.
I sent them a #privacy complaint. We'll see what happens.

People with that CEO's mentality never seem to get it that if you don't want people knowing that you said something damning, then it's totally on you not to say it in the first damn place -- because asking (or, worse, demanding) that it not be repeated is even more damning.
...and I've always said -- since, like, the 1990s -- that income taxes should be, by default, the government sends you a fully-accounted bill and you either pay it or dispute it.
[waits for someone to note that this would cost jobs in the massive tax-preparation industry...]

That did not take long. #Mailchimp 
was bought by #Intuit a couple of months ago.
On Tuesday, I received an email that they would close my account due to inactivity the very next day.
I had a busy week and I only saw that email now. All my data is apparently gone.
Well, I think we just found out why #intuit laid off 10% of it's workforce recently.
So #Intuit called those 1,600 people that they laid off 'underperformers'.
What an absolute dick move. It's hard for some people to find work, for these people it will be now harder.
Remember kids. Your company's != Family. They'll throw you under the bus without pity or remorse.
