A Reddish Egret chooses a healthy meal of fresh fish for lunch.

Author Ian Fleming was a birder.

He even named his fictional spy after esteemed ornithologist James Bond, whose influential field guide “Birds of the West Indies” is still in use today.

In March 1956 Fleming joined a birding conservation expedition to Great Inagua, where I took this photo, today.
