#ThreeGoodThings #3GoodThings

- I've been slowly learning more about the #IndieWeb it's really great and the more I read about it, the more excited I get (but also more confused, should I implement #RSS / #Atom / #Activitypub / #webmentions on my blog, all of the above or none?). Also I've discovered some great blogs and dusted off my feed reader.

- I had a new, fresh haircut.

- Yesterday was the first day of the year it was comfortable enough to read a book in the garden, and it was nice and sunny.

As you can see from cathode.church/fedi-scraper-co they don't respect the #NoBot #NoAI etc. Tags. And in my experience, especially online, people are rarely searching in good faith, they want someone to pick at, but the bigger issue is the above violates consent, so if I have the #NoBot tec tags on my profile, everyone of those would scrape my content anyway. The other half of this is refusing to comprehend that there are a large number of people that don't want to be other's content and want to post among their federated circle and value organic, human, growth over someone just randomly finding them. While this isn't fully me, for example, anyone can see me, but I don't wanna interact with everybody, which is why I don't have #WebMentions on my blog for example. In truth, I don't want any data of theirs on my website, period, and this includes social media replies. I'd like a one way web mention instead, where they know I linked them but interaction is on my terms not theirs, but going back to the above, the above gives examples where consent is violated. Not everyone is worth interacting with online. @miturian

cathode.churchIt has been X days since a Fedi Scraper.

Spent most of the day on the frontend of my website. Happy so far. You can check it out here: mariobreskic.de/

Had to remove the #webmentions plugin because, really? Who needs it.
Now, with that out of the way, I can get back to my actual work.

Also, as you can most likely tell from reading codeandcanvas.tumblr.com/post/ I’ve decided to get rid of Firefox, ad blocking, telemetry denial, and so forth, because it is an absolute waste of time, psychic energy, and turns you into an utter wimp!

I really like this little tool I’ve built: it collects all relevant posts from my most active social media accounts in one place, so that fellow goblins can just chill out in it. Comments and #webmentions are also active, so there is always room for goblin notes and scratches in the archive.

To the #Eleventy community: does anyone know of any projects to make an 11ty website a first class member of the #fediverse, similar to what The Verge is doing (via WordPress it seems like) and 404 Media will do once Ghost is ready (ref digiday.com/media/why-publishe). I did implement #webmentions on Cybercultural.com, using Bridgy etc, but it was unsatisfactory so I took it offline. I do want Cybercultural to be an “actor” on the fediverse tho, so now thinking about how to achieve that via 11ty.

Hm - how popular and/or useful are #webmention #webmentions and #indieweb ?

We recently came across them, and they would make for a great fit to our own website!

The H-Format is a little odd of a data format, but seem reasonable to parse, and rather trivial to add which is good, and we'd love to see what people can do with it - not to mention seeing comments on our pages without needing to worry about account management etc.

It seems very... Comfortable

Hey @henry just saw your talk at #11tyConf, loving the energy! 🔥🔥🔥

Too bad you only had 11 minutes, I'm currently exploring #WebMentions and would've loved to hear about it more in-depth. Did you already blog about this, by any chance?

To everyone else, here's the talk I'm talking about: youtube.com/live/iLxJ6PtuF9M?s

What did you use for your slides? For a moment I thought #iaPresenter 🤔
