The intersection of Nieuwe Herengracht and Entrepotdok is located in Amsterdam’s Plantage district, a neighborhood with a strong historical and cultural character. 🏛️

Nieuwe Herengracht, part of the city’s famous canal system, extends from the Herengracht and runs between the Amstel River and the Scharrebiersluis near Entrepotdok. Built in 1️⃣6️⃣5️⃣8️⃣, it marks the eastern edge of the canal belt. ⛵️

At this junction, several bridges help connect different parts of the neighborhood. The “Walter Süskind Bridge” (no. 237) links Nieuwe Herengracht to the Weesperzijde, serving as a key crossing for both pedestrians and cyclists. Nearby, the “M.S. Vaz Dias Bridge” (no. 238) and the “Hortus Bridge” (no. 239) also play an important role in keeping the area well connected. 🌁

🇫🇷 Une manière originale pour se déplacer à Liège est d'utiliser la navette fluviale qui parcourt la Meuse de Coronmeuse à Fragnée (près de la gare des Guillemins). Cinq arrêts permettent d'atteindre les différents quartiers de la cité ardente.

La navette circule une bonne partie de l'année selon des jours et des heures qui sont à trouver sur le site officiel : navettefluviale.be

En août 2019, la navette fluviale quitte Coronmeuse non loin de l'île Monsin qui marque la séparation entre la Meuse à droite et du Canal Albert. Le Canal Albert a remplacé l'ancien Canal de Maastricht et est un maillon essentiel pour le fret fluvial puisqu'il relie le port de Liège à Antwerpen. Au bout de l'île Monsin, se trouve un "phare" et une statue du Roi Albert Ier. A droite, sur la Meuse, on peut voir le pont-barrage de la centrale hydro-électrique de Monsin, à droite sur l'autre rive, les bâtiments de Kraft-Jacob-Suchard (anciennement Chat Noir) où est torréfié le café. Dans le fond, les collines boisées qui marquent le commencement du pays de Herve. In August 2019, the river shuttle leaves Coronmeuse not far from Monsin Island, which marks the separation between the Meuse on the right and the Albert Canal. The Albert Canal replaced the old Maastricht Canal and is an essential link for river freight, connecting the port of Liège to Antwerp. At the end of Ile Monsin, there is a ‘lighthouse’ and a statue of King Albert I. On the right, on the Meuse, you can see the dam-bridge of the Monsin hydroelectric power station, and on the right, on the other bank, the buildings of Kraft-Jacob-Suchard (formerly Chat Noir) where coffee is roasted. In the background, the wooded hills that mark the beginning of the Herve region.
