We live in a technologically advanced society. This has led to development of several technologies for blind people and specialized devices for blind people who have retinitis pigmentosa, glaucoma, age-induced macular degeneration etc. However, to make the world more inclusive for them, an additional layer of accessibility has to be achieved. For instance, access to basic schooling requires screen readers, magnification software, etc.

Beyond tech, what else is needed?

A new Moodle question type

Joseph Rézeau who I have known from moodle.org since at least 2012 has released a new #quiz #question type called Guessit. It is described as a game activity where the player (student) has to guess a "mystery sentence", word by word.

Is it not strange that even after the mass proliferation of mobile phones and their cameras there has not been one credible image taken of the Himalayan Yeti? This leads me to think, what were people who reported sightings all those years ago actually witnessing?

What these birds doing?

They were perched in the high branches of these tall trees, many of them with their wings spread wide. There is no sun for them to be getting any warmth from, just overcast daylight. There were several doing this, flying off again and then coming back to do the same again. I think they are crows or ravens, though at first I thought they might be bald eagles.

Any ideas anyone?

One time in college, a couple friends of mine got into a discussion over whether it was “take a shower” or “grab a shower.” The grab guy stated that taking something meant you … took it with you, something you don’t do with a shower. But the take guy countered asking if you “take a [crude word for Number 2]” or “grab a [crude word for Number 2]?”
As far as I know, it was never resolved. You’re thoughts?
