A patron asked our makerspace to design and CNC mill a replica of the Gemeente-Energiebedrijf sign found all over Amsterdam. They brought us a screenshot of a stock photo and some 6mm thick aluminum to cut it out from. Here's a first rough draft, CAD/CAM in #FreeCAD and milled in a #Snapmaker Artisan. I'm a novice at this stuff, you can probably tell from the results lol, but the next one will (hopefully) be better!

-using your #library (it matters!);

-defending library workers against the ongoing efforts to intimidate, silence, and criminalize them;

-advocating for better pay for them. 📚

What is National Library Workers Day? NLWD is a day for library staff, users, administrators and Friends groups to recognize the valuable contributions made by all library workers. On January 25, 2003, a resolution was proposed: That in order to recognize the hard work, dedication, and expertise of library support staff and librarians that the Tuesday of National Library Week be designated National Library Workers Day

Vouchers for Ohio private schools score double funding over public schools

The Ohio House's proposed budget INCREASES the private school voucher system BY $500 million and only gives $220 million to public schools. In 2024, Ohio gave over a billion dollars to private school vouchers.

The budget is expected to pass the House.
