After years - I still messed this thing up..... At least one of the panels is upside down, which makes it hard(er) to plan out some of the cool designs "normal" #LED #Cubes can do....
But now that I know the issue, and have two larger half cubes - I'll just have to buy the right size panels and try again.

4x4 LED matrix cube with 4x4 panels displaying adafruit neopixel demo code, at least one of the panels is upside down. a small ESP32C3 board is used as the microcontroller. The 5x5 half cube was scaled down 25% and the 4x4 panels almost fit correctly at after that.

For years I've wanted to make an #LED #Cube - I even bought led matrix boards years ago, they been sitting in a box, just waiting. A couple of days ago I found a simple 5x5 (half cube) to print. So I printed it, finding my matrix boards, I thought, wow this thing printed too big, but it says 5x5 -- Hmmmm, so dummy me printed a 2nd, with the same results. I decided to scale it down 25% - and that worked.... Can you see the problem that took me a day to see?

“Using photometric and spectroscopic sensors, we observed up to 50% night sky darkening during Earth Hour from 2011 to 2024 in Hong Kong, primarily as a result of a small but critical number of lights-out instances in central business districts, as evidenced by crowd-sourced photography records. The emission reductions mostly occurred in the 445–500, 500–540, and 615–650 nm spectral ranges---corresponding to peak emissions from LED billboard screens--- and in the 585–595 nm range, associated with metal halide floodlights used for facades and billboards. Our study identifies these sources as major contributors to urban light pollution.”

‘RiG’ a one of concrete and stainless steel light sculpture. Four tapered inox steel legs hold up a rectangular concrete frame. At the bottom a black double insulated power cable with cord switch is fed into the frame.
