How many others before me went down this track, with a friend, an enemy, a lover? How many memories in the nostalgia filter were made, and faded sepia tone into the mists of time, like the fall of the leaf into this, Lake Champlain? Lo, "Whispers in Autumn".

#TheNakedTurtle - (Plattsburgh,NY / #LakeChamplain) might get a crappy review and tip. Took the BF going in to complain before a server came over to take our order. I was ready to just get up and leave. Do not need this kind of bullshit today.

This server served ALL of the tables around us by the way.

And now they can’t seem to get our food and drinks out fast enough.

It’s been another busy week, but highlights including some parts of the #UVM campus off my normal routes. One spot rewarded me with this vista of #Burlington and #LakeChamplain. I love these everyday reminders of this amazing watershed we are working to protect. #52LakeChamplain #Vermont

The last few days have been a reminder that our beautiful #LakeChamplain is not insulated from the rest of the world. Wildfire smoke from Quebec has turned our skies orange and hazy and led to air quality alerts. At times, #Burlington hasn't even been able to clearly see the #Adirondacks across the lake. Hoping sprinkles of #rain last night and today help us out a bit.

So hazy this evening we couldn’t clearly see the #Adirondacks across #LakeChamplain from downtown #Burlington, #Vemont. Pretty bad #AirQuality and we are far from the worst area. I assume this is smoke from the Nova Scotia fires? We really need some rain to clear the air. #ClimateDiary

Yesterday, my family paid a visit to Fort Ticonderoga in Lake Champlain's South Basin. Visiting the fort taught us about the strategic importance of the lake during the French and Indian War & Revolutionary War. Hydrologically, the La Chute River, which drains Lake George, empties into Champlain at Ticonderoga. This view is from Mt. Most common find: #cigarette #butts - just like everywhere else. I'm not sure smokers know/care that #littering butts adds #plasticpollution to the environment.

Brought the kids along to help local organizations cleaning up #MarineDebris #PlasticPollution along the #BurlingtonVT #LakeChamplain waterfront to celebrate #EarthDay. Unfortunately the synthetic fabric pictured here was so stuck under the riprap we had to give up. The shoreline itself was pretty clean, but the kids got about 10 gallons of trash in an hour just inland.

Hoisington Brook in Westport, NY's Lee Park, just upstream of its mouth into Lake Champlain, where the stream cuts across a sandy beach. Hoisington Brook is at the north end of #LakeChamplain's South Basin sub-basin.
