Die Liebste möchte den nächsten Schritt gehen, d.h. sich mit #homeassistant und einigen selbstgehosteten Diensten wie #Vaultwarden und #Immich beschäftigen. Dazu fehlt aber noch ein kleiner Rechner mit schlankem Stromverbrauch.
Hat zufällig wer von Euch gerade ein ThinkCentre oder nen HP Elite ausgemustert, der ein neues Zuhause sucht?
Unsere ewige Dankbarkeit würde Euch nachschleichen. 
Meine Immich-Instanz wächst so langsam. Nur noch etwas über 4000 Bilder und Videos in der iCloud!

The immich app on my phone seemed 'reluctant' to upload photos to my self-hosted immich server.
In true hobby programmer fashion, I spent the weekend writing my own uploader (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, "this one will be better!")
Yesterday evening, when I actually started to do the uploading part, I discovered that nginx was misconfigured, so I fixed that.
Guess what the immich app did over night?

When you self-host immich behind an nginx reverse proxy, be aware that the nginx default configuration blocks uploads of big files!
I fell into that trap!

Lastly, I have #immich in a #proxmox VM as a readonly viewer of the samba share so I can see photos on my phone and other devices. My devices connect to #wireguard when out of the house so they can still access the server to sync!

Und schon ist das Hackcamp wieder vorbei! Bei tollem Wetter mit netten Leuten haben wir #Immich in Betrieb genommen, die Instanzen von #Pixelfed und #Peertube aktualisiert, Versuche gewagt, den Koalitionstracker von @fragdenstaat mal selbst aufzusetzen (noch in Arbeit) und Pläne geschmiedet, die Nutzung des #Fediverse bei den Grünen zu pushen!
After a re-setup of my #homelab server with #truenas I finally have #nextcloud up and running again.
In the past I used Nextcloud Photos to backup my phone but now moved to #immich. Now finally can also move all my #googlephotos to my private cloud 
Just triggered the export of the photos ;-)
Again one small stepp away from google and co!

@nico198X I don't think it's quite meant as that type of software. If you want a true replacement of Google Photos, you'll have to look into #selfhosted software for backing up purposes. Or if it's just a photo album app you want, you could look at alternative gallery apps like #AvesLibre (on #FDroid).
I use #Syncthing to back up my photos without Google Photos, myself. I've heard good things about #Immich as a self-hosted alternative, too: https://github.com/immich-app/immich

@nico198X - those are massively different products. To replace google photos, you’re looking at something like #immich or #nextcloud with the memories app.

nun habe ich noch die Anleitung für die Google-Photos - Alternative Immich geschrieben. Diese baut auf meine vorherige Installations-Anleitung für Docker und Portainer auf. Hiermit lässt sich in wenigen Minuten schnell und einfach eine eigene Photo-Cloud im lokalen Netzwerk installieren. Die passende App gibt es auch dafür.

I'm pretty sure #google makes their apps less sophisticated at least partly to hide the scale of the data they're collecting.
I say this because in #immich, which is a #selfhosted photo app, I have exact geolocation of where I took all my pictures. In Google Photos there's a vague "in this country" but no option to overlay photos on Google Maps. Too dystopian?
