I heard no less than 3 dads confidently point out to their kid this "flamingo"
My kids would have corrected me so fast it'd make your head spin (this is a scarlet ibis)
The Glossy Ibis is a globally distributed ibis, which also includes spoonbills and the Northern Bald Ibis.
This one is currently raising a trio of young ibises that follow it absolutely everywhere.

Introducing fedepedia.org!
This is a federated wiki instance powered by ibis. My goal is to collect and organize some Fediverse-related content here, but I'm totally cool with it hosting other entries too :)
Since it's federated, anyone from any instance (as long as that instance isn’t blocked) can edit entries here. That said, since there aren’t any articles yet, you'll need to register on this instance and create one before you can start editing.
This account will be sharing more updates about the instance. I really hope I can keep it running for a while so that it at least becomes another simple Fediverse wiki :P
Last week I had a lot of fun hanging out with White Ibis on the beach in Florida experimenting with motion blur to create a different feel.
Not the prettiest of species but we only had one sighting of a Bald Ibis - seemed ok to me

One of the birds I see most often around home is the ibis. They like to dig up grubs in grassy yards in the neighborhood and I think they’re totally underrated #ibis #watercolor #handmadepaper #amateur #artist #florida #sarasota #watercolour #aquarelle #mastoart #fediart
A buff necked ibis on the sandy shore of a river poking its long beak into the soft soils looking for food. Photographed in the Pantanal of Brazil. All our photos were taken from the rocky platform of a boat so I was always thrilled to get an in-focus image of the wildlife!
