Gumroad has given me a modest but consistent trickle of sales so far, and many people tried the free versions off there.

Anyway, I received a voluntary payment of $0.95 via #Gumroad, which deducted a 10% fee. The remaining €0.79 arrived in #PayPal, but then they subtracted a €0.39 fee and a €0.57 partner fee. Now I owe PayPal €0.17. Fantastic! Now I get why they call them PayPal Mafia!
I'm sorry for who sent the money to me, he practically paid the Mob.

Hi people, sorry to grumble about this, but I really need your support, if you can afford it!

#Gumroad is making me sad and angry again. I took a lot of trouble to set up a Stripe account (because they turned off PayPal pay outs) and they are gaslighting me changing the scheduled pay out day every week without notification or explanation. I guess I'll have to stop using them, which is highly annoying because I have just moved my newsletter to Gumroad recently.

#Liberapay was working poorly for people in Brazil (some friends told me they couldn't conclude the donation process in most currencies), I have to check if now with Stripe it will work better? If you want to help me and have a try: liberapay.com/villares

I am not greedy, and I know that I will never be able to sustain myself from my book sales alone. But boy, #Gumroad folks take a ton in fees! Even the numbers they report in your payout emails don't match up anymore. The payout breakdown says one amount, you receive another one (less, always less).

[Edit: This turned out to be a different issue, instead related to PayPal…]

Just checked my Gumroad account and realized hefty Gumroad and PayPal fees.

Of $307.53 revenue, I only received $78.80, meaning ~75% fees and deductions.

Before I comment on how wild I would find that everyone but me makes money off my content, let me double-check:

Is this the same for other Gumroad sellers here?

Nasty combined #Gumroad + #PayPal rug pull... PayPal blocked Gumroad that won't allow payments via PayPal any more, and Gumroad doesn't do Brazilian banks... I'm really pissed with this. And if you say the solution is Stripe, you don't know the fresh hell it is to use it from Brazil (and they want a copy of your passport no less). LiberaPay is also Stripe only.

Update: Maybe my Wise account will work out...
Update2: Not going well, waiting for Gumroad support.
