It's #Doorsday!

Catalani Tower House / Casa Torre dei Catalani.
The house is 16 metres high and was built around 1200 as a livable tower. It's got a lot of history, a legend of love and loss, some interesting family members who appear in Dante's inferno and it's just tucked away in a little quiet backstreet.

More of the skate park graffitti from Thursday... (not sure why I couldn't post these as a reply with >1 image!)

A low flat wall with three different tags -- the one in the middle looks like a fat stick figure (a little like Kieth Haring), in light blue outlined in orange, with some name or word across it. To the left, a green bulbous shape; to the right, yellow.

This is a wall that curves and slopes down from a staircase. At this front edge is a tag that looks a little like a loopy ladybug with a red central circle, curlicues on top, and two fat black O's to either side. The walls beyond are multicolored, and some low shrubs, devoid of foliage, are visible.

Turquoise letters spell OME, with each outlined in purple. Additional tags in white, maybe by the same or different artists, give almost a lacy floral effect here and there.

This shot is remarkable more for the strange shape of the sloped/rounded corner than for the mix of tags -- a white BE comes in from the left, some pink shapes to the right, and a white squiggle down the middle, pointing toward some loops on the pavement.

Did a dog walk on Thursday and scored some colorful graffitti from the skate park near the Philadelphia Museum of Art...

Photo of some kind of structure, perhaps a shelter for watching the skaters, with a curved cement base, a slatted metal roof, and mesh railing. The cement base has been tagged in a variety of styles and colors, and a few bits are also showing at the edge of the roof.

Close-up of a piece of graffitti from the cement wall in the previous picture, showing a yellow background with big white strokes outlined in black, and a few remnants of pink and blue from probably the layer below.

A shallow curved wall has some latters in colors more pastel than usual. We may be seeing something that spells out 2024, with a spiral in the zero, stripes of yellow on pink in the second two, and a greenish 4 with snowcapped tops. I'm not sure that the first character is really a 2, though -- it could even be an S if the stroke continues onto the ground.

Another low wall that appears to have been splashed with a mix of light, bright colors -- aqua, yellow, pink, lime -- and then tagged by a number of people in black paint on top of that. A set of arched bike racks are visible in the upper-right, behind the tagged wall, and the cement ground has other writing and images in white and red.

Is the hive at work? These bees keep popping up around #PortlandMaine

It's not clear who is painting the bees, if it's one person or many, or what their motivations are. Some Portlanders are delighted by the latest trend in #StreetArt, others are worried about the cost of cleanup.
