Adam Jenkins has made a Youtube video showing how to install #MoodleBox and Ollama on a Raspberry Pi4. MoodleBox is a custom distribution of #Moodle specifically for the Raspberry Pi. However the Moodle part includes good information on generally how to get Ollama and Moodle to work together. It also includes gratuitous use of a yellow rubber duck
(Yes Pi 4 not Pi 5).

Yesterdays STACK Maths seminar

In that ticket it says
“Doing this should help greatly smooth out the two biggest peaks in server load when students are making simultaneous quiz attempts.”
I believe this will allow large scale quizzes to run with less hardware and uncertainty.

I think Im about to step out of academic life now. Ofc its easier for me, Ive had my 20 years of study, lecturing, paper writing, app making and phd doing. I can step away, Im older, I can afford to. But Im not tired or bored, Im angry, appalled, Im not able to carry on because Im ethically so compromised. I just cannot be part of this charade for big tech extractive grifting anymore. Im with Miyazaki.

A new Moodle question type
Joseph Rézeau who I have known from https://moodle.org since at least 2012 has released a new #quiz #question type called Guessit. It is described as a game activity where the player (student) has to guess a "mystery sentence", word by word.

I have been using the #Moodle #STACK #maths related question intensely over the last few months. I had idly thought that it would be good to have an automated way of giving inputs and prts “sensible names”, i.e. instead of ans1, ans2 etc I could rename the input fields with things like width, area and have all references updated appropriately.
It turns out that the feature already exists under the menu Tidy inputs and PRT’s, wonderful!
