On the day the #Maxell blank #cassettes arrived I tried to see if if the new-to-me #Pioneer CT-300 #cassette player from the #80s still records fine.
It's going to need some work. The seller sadly somewhat "oversold" its working condition. Fortunately it's fairly easy to find replacement belts, I just need to wait a bit.

The fifth is currently in the player, which has a small red light on indicating it is currently recording. Further to the left of the blank cassettes the "Midnights" LP album by Taylor Swift is laying, right in front of a candle light that is turned on. On the wall behind all this a metal wireframe on which a handful of photos are attached. Most every photo is of Yamgom, our black chow-chow mix dog in various poses and wearing various accessories. The overall mood of the photo gives me a sort of 90s nostalgic vibe, in large part due to the prevalence of physical objects that in the modern day more often than have become fully digital (photos, music).

(yo en su día me compré un Panda 6501 por 22€ y es mono pero tiene radio y yo feliz como una perdiz 😅 )

Keith Sweat (with Jacci McGhee) "Make It Last Forever" US Vintertainment/Elektra 1988

Title track from his 1987 album, and a follow up to the crossover hit "I Want Her". This was when cassette singles started to take off in the US. Singles were kinda weird in 1988; this release was one of several got released on 7" vinyl, cassette and 3" CD. It didn't take long for 5" CDs to be the norm, cassettes fade by mid 90s, and vinyl be limited to indie labels and jukeboxes.
