Have you ever used stock photos or videos from #Pexels? It states that the #videos and #images are free to use and modify without #attribution. There is no registration on the website and I can see no other restrictions or ways to become enclosed. What I can see are a lot of high quality videos. But being allowed to use them for free makes me sceptical.

So frustrating. At least 3 works that appear on Google Scholar cite the UC Access Now Demandifesto (and the one in my pinned tweet SHOULD have cited it), but there's no way for me to use the Demandifesto as a link for my own Google Scholar Profile.
I've tried uploading it to Hcommons in addition to Internet Archive, but the platform has been so error-ridden that I still cannot publish it there. (I am told Google Scholar will pick up Hcommons.) #UCAccessNow #Attribution

I'd also like all the porn shared on here to be ATTRIBUTED to the best ability of the people posting it, but that's an old mania of mine and I've long since made peace with the fact that most people don't share it or give even a tiny fuck about it.
As for the alt descriptions, I have OK vision but I'm still amazed how often I need (want) alt text to help me puzzle out WTAF I'm looking at. Being somewhat face-blind and color vision impaired no doubt contributes to that.
I don't care how popular the #socialMedia poster/post is, but I #pledge to henceforth *not* engage posts with unattributed content (quotes, "facts", images, …) if the content is not attributable to the poster.
And please let me know when my posts fail to meet this standard.

Does Waze use #OpenStreetMap data? I made some very specific #OSM changes that have showed up in Waze fairly quickly. The Waze website does not provide attribution to OpenStreetMap:

Even after #publishers sign deals allowing #ChatGPT to train on their content, ChatGPT does a miserable job citing that content accurately.
This was a study of #journalism but the results almost certainly carry over to other categories like #science and #scholarship.

The official NASA #APOD API does not return a credit line/license for most images that are actually copyrighted or shared under an attribution license.
Even worse, the documentation states that images that don't return a copyright field are under public domain, which is almost never the true!
I hope NASA will fix this soon:
