@chris

It seems likely he will be removed if this election plays out as the current conservative pollsters are pushing: they are clearly pushing the narrative of "if not #CPC, then #LPC at any cost!"

Which I find extremely telling. Do we really want to elect Angus Reid's second choice after #PP?

Reality is: most #BC and #AB ridings are more likely to elect #NDP or CPC than LPC. This may be true in #SK & #MB, and elsewhere. We need clean data from the sources, not Fournier's weighted model.

7- Once you have the scan, you can make replicas of your fossils by 3D printing them! Here a fossil predentary, along with the 3D scan.

Thank you to the presenters for doing such a good job, the organizers for putting this together, and the participants for making it all possible! This was an amazing way to end the Paleo 2025 symposium, and we can't wait to see you all next year!

5 - Mark Turner from Dinosty Fossils holding up a beautiful ammonite! Ammonites are always amazing, but these were really to the next level!
6 - The Historical Society of Alberta (albertahistory.org/) was happy to talk about the more recent past of Alberta, including the human stories of those palaeontologists who made the rest of the symposium possible!

Thanks to all of the other exhibitors who had tables in the main hall! It was great to see all of the ways that people and groups are involved in palaeontology in particular and the past in Alberta in general!

1 - The dinosaur puppets at The Adventure Wranglers (wranglerelisa.com/) were a huge hit! Although marketed at children, I was definitely tempted!

We had a record number of posters at Paleo 2025! It was great to see the new rising stars of palaeontology (along with some less-new, well-established stars!) present their research. There were too many fascinating discoveries, and the hour that we had to look them over flew by.

The abstract volume sold out, but if you're interested in any of the posters get in touch and we'll see what we can do!

Dr. Hillary Maddin, Carleton University: "New insights into amphibian anatomy, evolution and ecology from the Paleozoic of Atlantic Canada"

Dr. Emily Bamforth, Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum: "Tyrant Lizard Kings and Queens: A Tale of Canadian T. rexes"

It was so great to see all of the new advancements in this field!

The recordings for these should be going up in the next few weeks!

The main event at Paleo 2025 had to be our speakers! Thanks to each of them for presenting their groundbreaking research at the forefront of palaeontology!

Dr. Cam Tsujita, Western University: "Squid Games: Challenges in Ammonite Paleoecology"

Dr. Matthew J. Vavrek, Cutbank Palaeontological Consulting: "Geographic Area and Body Size Relationships in the Dinosauria Through the Mesozoic"

Whew! Another symposium has come and gone, and Paleo 2025 was a huge success! Over 150 people attended seven lectures, viewed one of 20 posters, visited vendors and association tables, joined our Sunday fossil scanning workshop, or simply mingled with fellow palaeontology enthusiasts!

Stay tuned for more posts about this fantastic event!

A big thanks to all the volunteers who made it happen!

Eight more days until Paleo 2025!

Our next talk is by Dr. Pigg about the Eocene flora of Republic, Washington. Rumour has it that there may be a field trip there later this year!

Did you know that this event will also be held online? If you're an APS member you will get the Zoom code about a week beforehand. If you're not a member but would like to attend, just send us a message!

Only 9 days until the Paleo 2025 symposium.

After lunch, crowd favourite Tako Koning will follow up last year's talk on the Messel Pit with another famous site - the Joggins Fossil Cliffs of Nova Scotia!

Ten more days until Paleo 2025 symposium!

The third talk of the day will be Darren Tanke discussing progress on the Kaskie hadrosaur! Last year there was a bit of a mystery, so we're excited to see what happened.
