When I went out for my after-work walk, I saw the sun shining through these flowers in the same way that it glows through a cat's ear.
(I think this is some kind of cherry tree. It's strikingly beautiful, whatever it is!)
Every #spring, migratory #birds make incredible journeys from Central and #SouthAmerica to their breeding grounds in #NorthAmerica, navigating thousands of miles and countless hazards.
This Cornell Lab of #Ornithology visualization shows the pathways of 15 different species, highlighting how they navigate cities and landscapes. It also reminds us how small interventions like reducing nighttime lighting and making windows bird-visible can help protect these travelers.

Spring here is so gloriously beautiful that it is making it harder to leave. It made me wonder which flowers grow in my hometown the most in Spain, I stopped paying attention. I asked my family about daffodils and they never saw them before.
Daffodils were the first sign of Spring here in Hertfordshire.

today was a lovely sunny day, but I got sent this message this afternoon about what tomorrow will most likely look like...
A little #ForestFloor vignette from yesterday afternoon. There is no fresh green here, yet, though Aspen and Willow catkins are bursting out and should soon be flowering, leaves and non-woody plants will follow..
Meantime #WildflowerWednesday #WildflowerHour will have to settle for the resilient leaves of Pink-flowered #Wintergreen Pyrola asarifolia against a backdrop of beautiful #lichen on a fallen bit of birch trunk. #LichenSubscribe #BorealForest #Alberta #Canada #spring #SolaceInNature
We've just had 3 nights out in the van around the Dales. Here we are last night parked up with Lapwings and Curlews for the night. #photography #sunset #spring
