Ich hab ein gebrauchtes #Pixel geschenkt gekommen und natürlich gleich als erstes #grapheneOS drauf installiert.

Das kleinere Kind hat sofort überrissen, dass ich jetzt "zu viele" Handys hab. Aber es liegt ja nicht am Mangel an Hardware, dass es "immer noch" kein eigenes Handy hat, das arme.

Mein Fairphone mit #LineageOS ist eh total super und wird grundsätzlich noch sehr lange funktionieren. Aber Graphene ist schon ein ganz anderes Level. Ich werde probieren und gustieren.

It's a little rough around the edges, but the #Linux container for #Android is actually really rad. Here I've installed Podman so that I can run containers.

Docker did install, but I was not able to get it to run. Like I said, it's a little rough around the edges. However, we are not far away from full Linux application support under Android.

I had a plan to switch to #grapheneos when this iPhone dies, but now more than ever I dont want to give money to google for a new #pixel . The new #fairphone #Fairphone5 looks a phenomenal bargain in comparison to a pixel. Also looked at #nothingphone anyone know if its possible to #degoogle these phones completely? It seems crazy that buying a Google phone seems the best method to reliably degoogle!! Graphene team doing the lords work.

I installed Organic Maps on my iPhone several months ago but didn't really use it much. Over the weekend I started using it w/ CarPlay in my car.

I like it. It's a little more "technical" looking than Apple's mapping and better looking than Android (I haven't used Android Auto in more than a year). Sort of a middle ground between the two and I prefer it.

The map movement on the screen is kinda old-timey, quaint looking but I don't mind it. The map rotation is not smooth, herky-jerky in ~15 deg increments and the pointer "vibrates" but it is accurate and kinda neat to watch. Perhaps there are options to add map movement smoothing but I couldn't find it.

The dynamic zooming and perspective changes are very neat as well.

Routing worked perfectly fine. The ETA calcs are not as accurate as the other platforms (I figure the others use crowd sourced real road average speeds - which is scraping and processing user data effectively).

I have a bunch of feature request ideas - do I dare open a bunch of tix for the backlog? Ha!

Anyway, recommended.

Next update incomming. I have the feeling this pixel watch is getting updates weekly :-) I do not want to whine. But getting frequent updates is good and bad at once. Especially as the update can't be run on the wrist. Even with 80% battery it wants the dock.
