Release day for a software is always weird.
First all the concentration, happiness about the accomplishment, and then? Nothing. A strange void.

Q: Is there a way to find for photos that don't have Location name in #NeoFinder for #macOS?
A: Yes, two ways, actually!

1. Use the label menu in the Inspector for the Location field.
2. Use the Find Editor, and put "##" into the "'Location' contains" search field. That way, you can combine that search with additional parameters, such as a creation year, or file kind.

So. If you try to generate a video contact sheet of a file format or codec that my #NeoFinder 8.8 for #macOS currently (!, hint hint) doesn't support, you will now get a proper error message.

So, this one here was quite a beast to debug.
Writing metadata into HEIC files created by iOS 18.x on Apple iPhone PRO and MAX models is much faster now with my #NeoFinder 8.8 for #macOS.
The problem is that #Apple writes some very strange XMP metadata into these files, but only on these iPhone models. They actually write THREE separate, but only partial XMP records, very weird. But we managed to make it so that NeoFinder can still add and modify proper XMP metadata in these files, and a lot faster now.

While writing a new Image Capture feature for my #NeoFinder #photo #library, I am appalled by how ugly and bad the interface of Apples official "Image Capture.app" has been downgraded to in #macOS 15 "Sequoia".
They use two separately colored checkmarks to indicate very different states. Blue means "currently selected", and green means "downloaded".
An accessibility nightmare, and the weird selection marker is totally unexpected and never used elsewhere in macOS.
(and yes, shift-click to select multiple items between the last selected item and the newly clicked item often inexplicably fails, too)
And last, these icons are not even properly centered, if you look closely.
Yikes!
This is truly awful.
