She asked how I was and then said she felt bad about ‘retiring’ but “this had all been a long time coming and something we all brought on ourselves with how all these federal agencies just piss money and time away blah blah waste and efficiency “. Other than being totally tone deaf to the fact that she is collecting an entire year of FULL pay and benefits and earned leave etc… and THEN will retire when she could have just retired while we are all scrambling to do triple work —the bigger insult is that she could turn on the remaining federal force. IT honestly had me for a minute HOPING the DRP people get screwed. AND YES i realize that is not helpful and i realize that is not really what i want but just to VENT i was briefly infuriated that someone who has left could honestly have that attitude toward the remaining federal staff. Just needed a vent we are all in this together some couldn’t leave, some needed and had no choice, some would have been fired.
