Closeup, from above, of an iris flower with large purple petals. Some are curled on top of each other (standard petals) and others hang down (the falls; I’m looking this up and learning as I go!). The fall closest to camera is a vivid deep purple color, paler at the edges, with a central stripe of yellow and white tendrils (the signal) surrounded by a pattern of white veins radiating outward. A few raindrops collect on the top petals. The flower is surrounded by other iris flowers, either buds or open petals, amid green stems and leaves.

Got home from MerleFest around 1am last night, so I wasn't moving very fast this morning. But I still dragged my ass out of bed in time to get to the farmers' market! And Meadow Lane Farms had these *ginormous* bouquets - could not resist...
