Sparrow's Prize Moment

Chipping sparrows (Spizella passerina) are abundant right now, though they will soon begin their migration north in the coming months. While I often spot them at my bird feeders enjoying seeds, they are also known to feed on insects. Here is one captured in a remarkable moment, perched with a small green caterpillar in its beak.

Die #Vogelfreifluganlage im #Grugapark ist also in der Hauptsaison geöffnet. Neulich war ich etwas enttäuscht, als die Anlage geschlossen war. War aber auch keine Hauptsaison.

Ich habe Magnolien gesucht und gefunden. Zum jährlichen Magnolinefoto komme ich aber später. In erster Linie habe ich mich über die geöffnete #Freifluganlage gefreut.

Auf dem Foto ist ein #Scharlachsichler zu sehen, den man in unseren Gefilden …
