Me (brilliant): surely there can’t be a good reason for my bike tire pressure to have dropped overnight, I’ll just top it up to 80 PSI

Several hundred meters later, an enormous CRACK was heard as my front tire bulged out and exploded lol ain’t doing that again. Another thing I won’t be doing: buying $25 bike tires, even if they have fun colorful walls.

I don't think that, in general, the manufacturer makes a difference to geometry. Each manufacturer is likely produce a range of bikes for different purposes with purpose-specific geometry.

I'm tall and pay particular attention to the seat tube length. It tells me if I can get the saddle high enough and/or if I need to consider a longer seat post! Other important measurements like reach I can tweak by changing the stem and (drop) handlebars, if necessary. But I keep a check on how this may affect the handling.

"Hey, was für ein Waschlappen steckt denn hier Äste in den Pfad? Ach, Moment, das ist eine Schlagloch-Warnung."

Sehr nett, das Loch war echt groß und tief. Das hätte in einem unachtsamen Augenblick wirklich böse ausgehen können.

Wie auch immer, die letzten Sonnenstrahlen waren wunderbar. Morgen gibt es dann Dauerregen :o)

Fine, purchased a spoke wrench from the LBS. Hopefully don't need a truing stand to fix the slight wobble in a wheel I have. Did you know there are eight million size of spoke wrench? I bought a circular one with every size, because I had no idea which one I needed. (minor... but it's bugging me). #BikeTooter #spokes #bikerepair #bicycling

Testing and learning with scraps. There's a lot to juggle, first attempt at this I had one piece facing the wrong way so I ripped out the seam and started over. Next test a little better, but liner seam location is wrong, thus the extra visible seam. Next up I ironed things, which really helped, and used thicker liner material. Going to dig up an old zipper for more practice.

@pete @ascentale @xtaran @bikenite question: does anyone have"watts" numbers for towing a trailer with loads? I keep hearing"it's too hard" . For example someone said that 200 lbs of cargo was too much, yet an adult can weigh nearly that much, i.e. on a tandem. So I know that yes it's harder, but is it really that much harder? Also, it would give us better numbers to understand how many watts an ebike needs to offset the additional drag. #BikeNite #BikeTooter

Conversation with a person not into bikes:

Them: “Wait, why would you buy a bike and then change everything on it?”
Me: “Everyone always changes things on a new bike! Have you heard of the Ship of Theseus?”
Them: “No.”
Me: [after explaining the Ship of Theseus] “That could never happen to a bike, because if you change the frame, it’s not the same bike.”

Right?
