Krebs was fired by tweet in Nov 2020 after calling the election the most secure in history.

#Michigan voters first elected #JocelynBenson as Secretary of State in 2018 and then again in 2022 by a nearly 14-point margin — the biggest of any of the major statewide races that year. As Michigan's chief #elections officer during the #2020election, Benson spoke out against #Trump’s efforts to overturn his loss that year. She regularly appears on cable TV news programs as a national voice on protecting democracy in the US.

But prosecutors said AG #MerrickGarland does intend to release a portion of #SpecialCounsel #JackSmith’s report outlining his investigation into #Trump’s efforts to undo the results of the #2020election & will allow members of #Congress to review the portions withheld on the #ClassifiedDocuments investigation.

Before he was elected speaker, #MikeJohnson played a key role in the efforts to stop the #certification of the #2020election results, taking the lead in filing a briefing in a lawsuit to stop Joe #Biden’s victory.

On Sunday, Johnson also told Axios that he has a “very close working relationship with *President* #Trump & consider[s] him now a close friend.”

“I know that’s mutual,” Johnson continued. “[Trump] tells me how much confidence he has in my leadership.”

…Cowles talked about being the co-chair of the Legislative Audit Cmte in 2020, when the nonpartisan Legislative Audit Bureau found that the #2020election in WIwas “safe & secure.”

“You’ve got the fmr president continuing to say that the election was stolen every time he’s here in #Wisconsin,” said Cowles. “Didn’t happen. There were some issues, but clerks have been put through a tremendous amount of stress…So, that’s a check against him.”
