He sure seems wiling to have the final confrontation upfront - which might be a mistake, given that not yet all parts of the executive have been "cleansed"...
I don't think picking a fight with a chief judge from district court and making public personal details about members of his family is a smart strategy no mater who you think has your back.
Maybe Elon doesn't realize just how much power federal judges have. Like "Put your dumb ass in a cell indefinitely on a contempt finding" power.
Maybe we'll all get to watch as he finds out.

I would agree with you that the rich seem to be able to get away with most things, but doxxing a federal judges family member? That's probably over the line even for a spoiled billionaire.

IIRC the judge ordered him to remove all information about the judge's daughter that he posted online or face a contempt citation. The content was removed minutes after the judges warning.

Maybe not, I'm sure I don't care what Elon's feeling. I'd just like the judge to do what he has the power to do and if he does, I think it will be brilliant. I understand your inclination to believe it won't happen, I'm just trending towards optimism today.

No, of course there was harm done and I would've loved to see the judge throw him in jail over it. Most judges are more restrained than those appearing before them. My point was that the Orange Shit-gibbon certainly feared the judge had the power to throw him in jail so he immediately did as the judge directed. Elon's judge is well within the power of his office to jail him. I understand you don't think that's going to happen.

@mmiasma @ScottStarkey @ftranschel @jaykuo The courts use federal marshals to enforce their orders of contempt. The marshals are under the authority of the executive branch. So trump can tell them to ignore the courts. IMO we have chaos when that happens. No one has to listen to anyone if they don't have the monopoly on violence

I'm skeptical of this faith in federal judges....
If said judges really flexed that power, the prez would be in jail already, a long time ago, and elon would be gone already.
I say this while TRULY hoping musk "finds out" ASAP.

I don't have faith in federal judges per se, I have faith in federal judges who's family member is doxxed by a petulant rich boy who's already defying a court order.

It's extremely weird that the richest man in the world who is working with Russia and China to dismantle our freedoms and democracy would do something that a teenage groyper would do. Just so pathetic.

Elon's presidency seems to be willing to ignore judicial constraints. Perhaps even interfere with judicial powers. This is a constitutional crisis.
